To come to Herdade da Matinha, having a car or motorcycle is neither a requirement nor the norm. Quite the opposite: having a means of transportation is something that is strongly discouraged if the aim is to live things up
as it should be.
There’s no need to move around. Just get here. Then, the only urgent thing is to learn to stay.
Days pass and nights shine, one after the other. Always surprisingly bright, always stupendously beautiful. And so time passes without you noticing. I don’t know how long it’s been since I got here. None of that counts.
Being in Matinha is more than just the days scheduled for your stay. It’s an experience with the dimension of a single moment, which makes the whole.
So here I am with my two legs, with no intention of going anywhere. I don’t need wheels to take me where I want to go. It’s a short walk away. It seems to me that it’s right under my nose. Still and quiet in the wake of a scent, it comes to remind me of that magical place where inspiration lives.
